Introduction
Small containers refer to container sizes that are easy for someone to lift or move. The actual size of the container may range from a few inches across the top for each container individually or in multiple units such as multiple plant trays, to individual containers about 12 -14 inches across the top.
Testing Process
The steps involved in Small Container Substrate Testing are:
- Container Irrigation
- Container Selection
- Water Pour-through
- Leachate Collection
- Leachate Analysis
- Interpretation
Objectives
You can view a brief video demonstrating all of these steps or proceed through the slideshow. In doing so, you will:
- Develop skills and techniques needed to conduct substrate nutritional tests for containers small enough to lift and learn how to interpret substrate nutritional test results based on crops produced and management strategies.
